For Chaos !

Yesterday was a glorious day for the powers of corruption: it was the beginning for Thorrolf the chosen on Nehekara (EU OpenRvR-RP).
My first impressions were really positive. The interface is clean and simple, quests are easy to read. A player accustomed to WOW won't be lost. The tome of knowledge is a bit overwhelming at the beginning but I have to delve more into it.
On the graphical aspect, I was disapointed by the game textures varying from really ugly to honest but all NPC I've seen have a strong visual identity. As a long-time lover of the warhammer rpg, it is a real pleasure to see all these characters and the surroundings tightly related to the rpg.
I was delighted to see skavens, gors/ungors, sorcerers on disc of Tzeentsch, chaos warriors and these squishy lancers from the Empire, always available to help me to test new rewards from the gods of Chaos !

I really like how pve and pvp are interwoven, I alternated easily quests and scenarios until level 5.
The T1 chaos scenario is similar to Arathi with only 3 points.
I gained new titles by being killed by warrior priests and witch hunters. I'm not sure I will use it. After all, nobody wants to indicate his butt was kicked by someone.
At this point I tried to join a friend in the greenskins zone. After a long quest to find the flight master, I finally joined the green little ugly guy. I'm not really a piece of art myself and I like this fact. Aside from the elves, Destruction males are scarred, ugly and like to collect skin afflictions. Other mmorpg seems to be designed by Disney when you compare avatars. I like this fact because Warhammer is a grim world and this is reflected in the appearance of characters.
The greeskins T1 zone is brutal, noisy and messy like them. In greenskins villages, I almost smelt the stench of goblins and I often had the sentiment to be in the middle of a battleground between dwarves and greenskins. The immersion is really good.

My main regret? It is not possible to create a berserker of Khorne similar to the ones in the Warhammer Mark of chaos game trailer. These guys were impressive as hell with their red armor and their huge weapons which say death and pain to Khorne's foes.

I like this game, it reminds me the first moments of Wow.

Birth

First post for my first blog.
I guess that's a good occasion to present myself and my blog.

Gaming is my hobby, I discovered it with the SEGA computer SC-3000 and a lot of gaming consoles.
More recently, I felt to the MMORPG trend: Daoc, Eve online, Ryzom, Anarchy online, Age of conan and of course Wow.
I never stayed more than a few months on these games apart for Wow where hardcore raiding made me stay 3 years on this game with 3 to 6 nights per week spent in Molten core, BWL, Black temple, etc. Kudos to Blizzard for making such a good game. Unfortunately the weariness made me leave Azeroth and the Outlands for greener pastures. Well, Cimmeria in fact.
The promise to play a pvp focused mmorpg brought me to Age of Conan.
Unfortunately, Funcom released Aoc too early. I wont make a list of griefs on this game, a lot of people already did it. Maybe I will try it again in one year. If Age of conan follows the same path as Anarchy online, it could be interesting to see it after a period of maturation. Too bad Funcom confuses releasing with beta testing.
Now the next big thing on the mmorpg scene I'm waiting for, is WAR.

The next point is: why opening a blog?
In this small kingdom of me, I will try to give informations, relevant news and sharing my experience which I hope be useful or entertaining for my readers.
